#Review - #Rimmel #MatchPerfection #Skintone Adapting #Concealer 010 #Ivory

Ladies, recently i have been experimenting with lots of concealers to see which one suits my skin tone the best and have found out really good concealers in my quest for the best one. However, every item has pros and cons of their own like every product and therefore I want to share my thoughts with you so you already know which items to try and which items to ignore :) Today I am going to #review the #Rimmel #matchPerfection #Skintone Adapting Concealer in 010 #Ivory which claims that it is both concealer and highlighter. Read on to find out if it satisfied me or not!!!
#Rimmel #Match #Perfection #Skintone Adapting #Concealer 010 #Ivory

The Packaging:

#Rimmel #matchPerfection #Skintone Adapting #Concealer comes in a tube with a brush at the end for application. I really wanted to try this tube shape out cos this was first of this kind for me therefore it was one of the factors I bought this concealer :D

The Pricing:

Price of this concealer is PKR 650/- only which is quite reasonable I think. You can get it from any cosmetic store which has a #Rimmel counter.

Product Details:

The concealer tube claims the below on its back:
Banish signs of fatigue and illuminate the eye area. With an oxygen complex, lets skin breathe
Since this was the first time I bought this concealer, I took some time while choosing the shade for my skin at the counter  and chose the shade 010 #Ivory for myself as it seemed to be suiting my skin very nicely. The concealer actually lives up to the claim of "Skin Adaptation" as when you apply it on your dark circles, for a while it seems a bit off shade or bright for your skin tone; but in a minute or two it really adapts to your skin shade and gets merged with your foundation. It feels very light on your skin and does not form layer on your skin so it makes for a good daily wear concealer. It has a little bit sheen to it so can be used as a daily highlighter as well but I personally do not like it as a highlighter so this feature is not much useful to me. Regarding the lasting power of this concealer, I won't say I am very impressed as it does not last more than 3-4 hours. I would use this for daily wear but I would not use this concealer for a function or event as I can't trust it to stay for a whole day and with heavy makeup. However, with the price tag it comes, I think its an okay daily wear concealer and good enough for regular use.

#Review - #EvelineCosmetics #Skin360 #Normalising #Mattifying #Tonic #3in1

Ladies, using a toner has never been my priority. Although I have been a regular cleansing routine follower since many years but all I did was to cleanse my skin and apply my night cream afterwards. Sometimes I did use rose water in place of a toner but using a specific toner was something I never actually gave much thought to.
When Keune Pakistan & Eveline Cosmetics sent me their goodie bag as a part of their marketing campaign for the launch of Elysian Beauty Salon in Islamabad; I found #EvelineCosmetics #Skin360 #Normalising #Mattifying #Tonic #3in1 as a part of the lovely stuff I received. Since I had to review it obviously I started using the product for an honest & fair review. Read on to find out what difference did it bring to my skin & skincare routine!

#DIY #Makeup #Cleansing #Wipes

Hi girls, we have all been lazy on certain days where it seems too much to cleanse your makeup and we just want to hit the bed right after a hectic day. For such days I always keep a set of makeup cleansing wipes with me so that I can get away with the detailed cleansing routine and cleanse the makeup right on my bed.
I normally use Pure Cleansing wipes and you can read their review here. I have used many other brands as well but personally find these best suiting to my skin. However, for a pack of about 25 wipes, it costs around 140-150 Rs. on different stores and on some stores even more than that. Anyhow I didnt consider this too much of an amount until I discovered that I can make my own cleansing wipes at a fraction of the cost. Plus those are mostly organic and use much of the natural products so the face is happier and cleaner without using much chemicals :) Isn't this amazing???

So lets get started. Here is what you need for these DIY makeup wipes:

Caring For your Nails !!!

Hi girls … today I m going to share a few easy tips with you regarding your nail care. I don’t want to share too complex tips which would consume your time and u end up ignoring them.

So without much further a do… lets see what the tips are:

  • Add proteins and calcium to your diet – you can eat multivitamins for this purpose or you can eat the natural foods which contain these elements and therefore improve your overall health AND your nails …  isnt it cool !
  • Who doesn’t like french fries … we all do right? Next time you make your french fries, don’t peel off the skin … eat those with the skin on… potato’s skin is rich in nutrients which are good for your nails & skin
  • Massage olive oil/coconut oil on your cuticles and nails every night (OR at least twice a week) – you will see the difference in few weeks.
  • Use lemon skin peel on your discolored or stained nails
  • Nail polish removers mostly contain Acetone – which is a solvent best for dissolving nail polish, but it dries out your skin and nails. Try using acetone free nail polish remover if you have sensitive skin. Or if you need quick nail polish remover and cant avoid acetone; make sure you moisturize your skin before and after nail polish remover.
  • Use a hand cream every night before sleeping

These were few of the easy tips to take care of your nails, I have tried my best to make sure these are not very difficult to do so that every one of you can try them out. Do let me know if you have other easy tips.

Review - Saeed Ghani's Aloe Vera Serum

20130305_01250620130305_01264920130305_012556
I am a hugeeeeeeee fan of the herbal products and homemade diy's for the skincare and Aloe Vera is one of my favorite herbs for skin care. I even have an aloe vera plant at my home for quick skincare recipes.

Recently I came across aloe vera serum in Saeed Ghani's shop and I just HAD to try this out.
It is a small bottle and comes with a spray. The liquid is clear and almost odorless.

It is not too much high priced and I got it for PKR 90/- from Saeed Ghani's shop in Super Market Islamabad.

Now lets come to the results ... honestly I didnt expect it to do wonders overnight and was just using the first bottle I purchased as a regular regime before my moisturizer. After using it only for about 5 days regularly, I started seeing visible difference in my skin, my pores were never open or big but I felt the difference in my skin and refined pores after using this serum. My skin was more supple, and felt more firm. The complexion was even toned to quite a good extent. I also felt the really fine lines disappearing thus making my skin more young and fresh.

Initially I didnt understand what made my skin so vibrant in just 5 days but then I realized that it was the only new thing in those days that I had started using. All the other stuff that I applied on my skin was the same and nothing had changed. I was really impressed by the product's results and I am surely recommending it to all of you girls out there.

For your reference, I am also writing down the way I used this serum as this might be of some help for you people:

  1. My first step in the night was to cleanse my skin using a cleanser and cotton. The cleanser I have been using for almost 2-3 years is Garnier Skin Naturals Essentials Grape Water Makeup Remover Milk. Read Review here.
  2. After cleansing my skin thoroughly with the cleanser, when the cotton ball stops to pick anymore dirt and dust from your face. I applied plain rose water on my face with a cotton ball. Rose water is a natural, less expensive and great toner and I refrain from using any other toners with harsh chemicals in them.
  3. Now here is where the serum from Saeed Ghani jumps in. I apply it before applying my moisturizer. Just a few sprays either directly on my face or on my hands and then applying on my face did the trick.
  4. After applying the serum, I waited for a while till it dried and then applied my usual moisturizer. I normally use Clean & Clear Oil free moisturizer but during the winters I use Ponds Moisturizing Cold Cream. I massage the moisturizer softly on my face.
In the morning, my routine was the following:

  1. I washed my face with the usual face wash and dried it.
  2. Applied the Saeed Ghani Aloe Vera Serum on face.
  3. Applied my usual moisturizer the same way I did during the night regime.
Have any of you girls used this serum? Please share your thoughts. I would love to hear from you.
Also, I would also tell you in a future post that how can you make aloe vera serum yourself at your home. Isn't that GREAT.

Have fun all you ladies !!!

Biggest Skincare Sins

Skincare is a tricky business. You try and try and try millions of expensive and costly  products while the secret of glowing skin lies in simple and less costly ways. There are some ways which are really cost effective YET very beneficial for your skin. You can make a daily routine to follow some basic and simple steps and your skin will feel better in a matter of days. Following are some of the skincare sins I have personally learnt through my own experience; thought you might be interested in knowing what my experience says:

  1. Skipping a sunblock: By far the most crucial thing for your skin is a proper sunblock. I personally never considered it something useful until I just visited a dermatologist for a few spots on my face and she told me that my skin was heavily sun damaged (I used to think my skin is quite better than the others till then :P, however she proved me wrong). I started feeling better with my skin in two days of starting the sunblock. If you are not sure which sunblock you should use, try going to a dermatologist and ask him/her which sunblock would suit your skin type. Please note that using the wrong sunblock for your skin might lead to adverse effects on your skin instead of positive. So its a quite critical decision on which sunblock to choose. I have noticed myself that whenever i skip my sunblock for a number of days my skin starts deteriorating. In fact I myself skipped the sunblock for about a month being lazy and noticed my skin was getting worse and worse. I was not sure what was causing the problem and was thinking of taking an appointment with a skin doctor. I just started my sunblock out of nowhere the same days and noticed improvement in my skin in 3-4 days. Then I realized that the whole problem with my skin was due to inapplication of the sunblock. I can go on and on about the usefulness of a sunblock but I guess this is enough :p
  2. Drinking Less Water: Water makes up 70% of your body and is an essential requirement of your body tissues. You should at least be drinking 8 glasses of water per day. My own skin has started feeling much better ever since i have improved my water intake. In absence of proper water intake, your skin is dry, your face and eyes might feel puffy and swollen due to the increased mineral ratio in your body and lesser water. Make at least 6-8 glasses of water a part of your daily life and see how your skin glows.
  3. No Cleansing: Another skincare sin will be NOT cleansing your skin. Experts suggest that you should be cleansing twice a day everyday but I personally cleanse once a day so I would recommend that. You can use any Good Quality cleanser and cleanse before you go to sleep as night is the time when your skin repairs and rejuvenates itself.
So what do you think girls, do you want to add to my list of skincare sins? Please share your thoughts...
