#Review - #Keune #HairBeauty #SplitEnds #Serum

Hey Lovelies, using a serum is one important task to add to your routine these days due to the always changing weather and pollution in the environment. My hair tends to get really frizzy during humid days which just makes me hate them!!! I have noticed that if I use a serum on my hair when its a bit damp after the shower, the frizziness tends to be reduced therefore i am trying to make using serum a part of my everyday shower routine (though at times I am lazy like we all are *lol*)

An open letter to Madam Javeria Saud and all morning show hosts!!!

Madam i had the misfortune of watching your show in repeat on 16th October 2015 while surfing the channels and need to highlight certain issues on the topic that you had chosen today:

According to you and some of your guests, generally girls in Pakistan are not able to secure good jobs on the basis of their looks, or on the basis of the degree to which these ladies observe parda/hijab. It is quite disappointing to see what you are portraying through a channel which is being watched globally and definitely setting up an image of Pakistan in the whole world.

morning shows, society, mindset, thought process, fair complexion, discrimination
Are our morning shows actually represent majority of the mindset of the society or are they injecting the society with their own mindset?

Caring For your Nails !!!

Hi girls … today I m going to share a few easy tips with you regarding your nail care. I don’t want to share too complex tips which would consume your time and u end up ignoring them.

So without much further a do… lets see what the tips are:

  • Add proteins and calcium to your diet – you can eat multivitamins for this purpose or you can eat the natural foods which contain these elements and therefore improve your overall health AND your nails …  isnt it cool !
  • Who doesn’t like french fries … we all do right? Next time you make your french fries, don’t peel off the skin … eat those with the skin on… potato’s skin is rich in nutrients which are good for your nails & skin
  • Massage olive oil/coconut oil on your cuticles and nails every night (OR at least twice a week) – you will see the difference in few weeks.
  • Use lemon skin peel on your discolored or stained nails
  • Nail polish removers mostly contain Acetone – which is a solvent best for dissolving nail polish, but it dries out your skin and nails. Try using acetone free nail polish remover if you have sensitive skin. Or if you need quick nail polish remover and cant avoid acetone; make sure you moisturize your skin before and after nail polish remover.
  • Use a hand cream every night before sleeping

These were few of the easy tips to take care of your nails, I have tried my best to make sure these are not very difficult to do so that every one of you can try them out. Do let me know if you have other easy tips.

Organizing Your Beauty Box

Hello Lovelies …

Almost all of us do have beauty boxes which are our lovely possessions. Mine is a box with a good height and can carry a lot of my makeup items. This kind of a box is a blessing specially when u r travelling. It can carry small makeup kits, my brushes, even a small hair dryer. It is closed with a zipper so carrying it is even easier and safe when I am carrying it around.

  20131228_170917

There was, however, one big problem; I used to dump all my stuff into this box and while doing my makeup I had to dig into the box and look for the items I needed that time.

Here is a look of my beauty box originally:

  20131228_170957

I thought there was an immense need to properly organize the items in the box – and this is what I did.

I used some old tissue rolls and placed them in the box. then I placed my pencils, brushes and foundation bottle etc into them; now they are neatly arranged and easily found. Also, I cut some of the tissue rolls in half and separated one section of my beauty box with the shorter toilet rolls and placed my smaller makeup items like lipsticks and kajal sticks etc there.

Here is a screenshot of how it looks after this arrangement:

I am quite satisfied after this arrangement and finding things has been easy peasy after doing this. If you have some great organizing ideas, please share : )

Biggest Skincare Sins

Skincare is a tricky business. You try and try and try millions of expensive and costly  products while the secret of glowing skin lies in simple and less costly ways. There are some ways which are really cost effective YET very beneficial for your skin. You can make a daily routine to follow some basic and simple steps and your skin will feel better in a matter of days. Following are some of the skincare sins I have personally learnt through my own experience; thought you might be interested in knowing what my experience says:

  1. Skipping a sunblock: By far the most crucial thing for your skin is a proper sunblock. I personally never considered it something useful until I just visited a dermatologist for a few spots on my face and she told me that my skin was heavily sun damaged (I used to think my skin is quite better than the others till then :P, however she proved me wrong). I started feeling better with my skin in two days of starting the sunblock. If you are not sure which sunblock you should use, try going to a dermatologist and ask him/her which sunblock would suit your skin type. Please note that using the wrong sunblock for your skin might lead to adverse effects on your skin instead of positive. So its a quite critical decision on which sunblock to choose. I have noticed myself that whenever i skip my sunblock for a number of days my skin starts deteriorating. In fact I myself skipped the sunblock for about a month being lazy and noticed my skin was getting worse and worse. I was not sure what was causing the problem and was thinking of taking an appointment with a skin doctor. I just started my sunblock out of nowhere the same days and noticed improvement in my skin in 3-4 days. Then I realized that the whole problem with my skin was due to inapplication of the sunblock. I can go on and on about the usefulness of a sunblock but I guess this is enough :p
  2. Drinking Less Water: Water makes up 70% of your body and is an essential requirement of your body tissues. You should at least be drinking 8 glasses of water per day. My own skin has started feeling much better ever since i have improved my water intake. In absence of proper water intake, your skin is dry, your face and eyes might feel puffy and swollen due to the increased mineral ratio in your body and lesser water. Make at least 6-8 glasses of water a part of your daily life and see how your skin glows.
  3. No Cleansing: Another skincare sin will be NOT cleansing your skin. Experts suggest that you should be cleansing twice a day everyday but I personally cleanse once a day so I would recommend that. You can use any Good Quality cleanser and cleanse before you go to sleep as night is the time when your skin repairs and rejuvenates itself.
So what do you think girls, do you want to add to my list of skincare sins? Please share your thoughts...

What should be In Your HandBag

Okay, I have been thinking for a long time to write a blog post like this. Every girl wants to make the most out of her hand bag. This blog post is mainly for working girls like me who have to spend more of their day at office or somewhere outside their home so a handbag is more or less all they have during the day. it should have all the required items that someone might need during the day. So I am not here to, you know ask you to follow the exact same things but definitely I will tell  you what s inside my handbag for work and why I think it’s a necessary item. I would also want all of you to share what’s inside your hand bag so that maybe someone can get an idea … isnt that great…

SAM_3942SAM_3944SAM_3945

Hmm … I personally prefer my handbag for work to be a bit HUGE … I want it to hold so many of the things I would be needing during the day. so the size if you are working from 9 to 5 or 9 to 6 should be big enough to hold important items. the items inside my bag always include the following:

  • My wallet –> Definitely you need a wallet when you go out to keep your money and cards etc in it.

SAM_3946

  • My beauty pouch –> Well, for every girl there HAS to be a beauty pouch in the bag. while some girls want to put their stuff right in the bag; I prefer organizing things as much as possible. So I keep a small pouch and put all the beauty related items in there. Here is its picture, It contains the following basic beauty items:
    • Sun block
    • Tinted Moisturizer
    • Face powder
    • Blushers (two of them – one is shimmery and one is matte)
    • Lip gloss – one that is a shimmery glossy pink matching my natural lips with a sheen
    • One eye liner
    • One lip pencil
    • a hand sanitizer
    • a small mirror
    • a kajal stick

  • My techie stuff –> well this is for the girlies who are more tech savvy like myself Smile with tongue out … I put all this stuff in another pouch Smile and here is whats included in this one:
    • My cell phone charger
    • my tablet charger
    • my flash drives
    • my mobile data cable

SAM_3952SAM_3951

  • A pack of facial wipes
  • a pack of tissues
  • a wide toothed comb
  • some instant pain killers and quick medicines

Ten Surprising uses of aspirin

  1. To remove perspiration stains from white T-shirts, dissolve two aspirins in half a cup of warm water and apply to the area of the fabric where the stain is. This should be left for a couple of hours before washing.
  2. Has your hair ever gone yellow or green from chlorine in a swimming pool? This can be remedied very quickly by dissolving 8 aspirin tablets in a glass of water and rubbing the resulting liquid into your hair. Leave for about ten minutes and then rinse it out. Shampoo in the usual way.
  3. First aid for pimples: Crush an aspirin tablet and add a little water to make a paste. Cover the pimple with this paste and after a few minutes rinse it off. The pimple will be less red and reduced in size. Aspirin is an astringent.
  4. Drop a soluble aspirin tablet into the water before arranging cut flowers in a vase. It helps to keep them fresh for longer.
  5. To treat dandruff, crush two aspirin tablets and add them to your usual shampoo. Leave on the hair for a couple of minutes and rinse as normal.
  6. Mosquito bites can be eased by wetting the skin and rubbing an aspirin over the spot.
  7. Bee stings can be treated in the same way but any adverse reaction to the sting should be reported to a doctor.
  8. Gardeners can treat fungal soil infections by dissolving an aspirin tablet in a liter of water and using the mixture to treat the soil. Don’t make this mixture too strong if using around plants as it may burn the leaves.
  9. Aspirin can also be mixed with potting compost in the greenhouse, or garden, to prevent fungus forming around the roots of new plants.
  10. Take some fresh lemon juice and mix it with a soluble aspirin to make a mixture that will remove grass stains, nicotine stains, etc from hands.
