Caring For your Nails !!!
Hi girls … today I m going to share a few easy tips with you regarding your nail care. I don’t want to share too complex tips which would consume your time and u end up ignoring them.
So without much further a do… lets see what the tips are:
- Add proteins and calcium to your diet – you can eat multivitamins for this purpose or you can eat the natural foods which contain these elements and therefore improve your overall health AND your nails … isnt it cool !
- Who doesn’t like french fries … we all do right? Next time you make your french fries, don’t peel off the skin … eat those with the skin on… potato’s skin is rich in nutrients which are good for your nails & skin
- Massage olive oil/coconut oil on your cuticles and nails every night (OR at least twice a week) – you will see the difference in few weeks.
- Use lemon skin peel on your discolored or stained nails
- Nail polish removers mostly contain Acetone – which is a solvent best for dissolving nail polish, but it dries out your skin and nails. Try using acetone free nail polish remover if you have sensitive skin. Or if you need quick nail polish remover and cant avoid acetone; make sure you moisturize your skin before and after nail polish remover.
- Use a hand cream every night before sleeping
These were few of the easy tips to take care of your nails, I have tried my best to make sure these are not very difficult to do so that every one of you can try them out. Do let me know if you have other easy tips.

Nail Art Simulator–Virtual Nail Salon
Hey girls, I am really fond of trying different kinds of nail arts on my nails. I wont say that I am very good at it anyhow I try various styles just to keep practicing and I hope someday ill be better at it hehe !!
I have some samples of the nail arts I have done in this album on my facebook page here.
Recently I tried a few nail arts and I couldn’t get the shapes the way I expected them, and then I looked it up on internet and turned out I was doing the wrong steps to make certain shapes; that time I had to remove my nail polish all over and redo all the nail art to get the shapes right, that’s when I thought how nice it would be if I had a trial nail simulator to try out everything before trying it out on my actual nail and without wasting any of my nail polish as well. There, I got an idea… I had a few makeup applications in my android phone and I just realized if I had a nail art simulating application on my phone how nice it would be to see how exactly I should do the nail art before doing it actually on my nails. I searched the play store for nail art simulators and I found out a few applications. I installed some of them and tried them out. I would mention the best application I found and will discuss its features here with you guys so that its helpful for all you girls out there as well.
Its name is Modiface – Virtual Nail Salon and it can be downloaded from here.
- It has plenty of nail colors to choose from and you can even choose one nail to see how the nail art will look on your nails.
- You have a list of available hand samples or you can take picture of your own hand and use that one as a model.
- It allows you to change nail color consistency and opacity to show how the nail color will look on your hands
Have any of you used any other nail art application which has been useful for you. Please share with all of us here.

Review - Pretty Perfect Twist and Out Instant Nail Polish Remover
I have always been fond of Etude Nail Polish remover and it has been working quite well for my nails for years now. However, recently i couldnt find it anywhere in the market and had to switch to something else. I personally couldnt trust any other brand so i opted for OPI considering its huge market share and popularity. The nail polish remover was fine enough to remove nail color but it left my nails and cuticles quite dry so I was still not happy with it. I went to the market and asked for a nail polish remover which is good enough but doesnt dry out your skin. And the sales girl handed this over to me. I had ordered Pretty Quik Instant Nail Polish Remover in the past from UK and it cost me above 1000 PKR when i included shipping. Plus, they didnt deliver to Pak so I had to have it delivered to a friend's place in UK and she sent me when someone was coming to Pak; so it was quite a hassle for me LOL. So I was not quite sure how much this specific nail polish remover by Pretty Perfect will cost me. But to my surprise, the price was ONLY 175 PKR.
Following are some pictures showing the process of removing the nail color using this remover:
Here are my nails with nail color:
Here is how it looks from inside (its blue because previously I removed a blue color nail polish in it :P )
Here is how it is after one quick clockwise and anti clock wise twist
And finally this is how it looks after doing all the nails (Please note that I did the nail polish removal and the pictures in TOTAL darkness due to load shedding so I could not see the nail color near the cuticles until I took the pictures and saw them on my phone :P)
After clearing out the cuticles to a bit; here is the final look:
I bought it from D. Watson Blue Area Islamabad and tried it. It was as good as a traditional nail polish remover and I am quite Happy with its purchase. Plus the price is less than both etude and OPI :P
The Good Things:
- Price - Not too much costly
- Quick - its very quick
- Easy
- Doesnt dry out your skin or nails
- Portable
The Bad Things:
- After many uses the nail color may start accumulating in your nails and you might have to be very careful while using this product. However it happens ONLY after many uses and also if you have very dark nail polishes on.

Review–Flormar Super Neon Colors in Green–NO14
I have been looking for a neonic green color since ages and finally Flormar was the solution to my much long awaited search. So I am not going to keep it to myself and make you all aware of the wonderful product this is.
The Packaging:
It’s a beautiful packing with 11 ml liquid nail polish.
The Pricing:
It can be bought from any big cosmetic store in Rawalpindi/Islamabad. I purchased it for PKR 170 from Al jannat mall Commercial Market Rawalpindi. I think with the size of the bottle and its quality the value for money is good.
The Results:
Results are truly neonic. Its like this flourescent green color which looks amazing on the hands; and especially when your dress is matching, the effects are mind blowing … However, the first coat is a bit transparent, so if you want darker color you definitely need to apply a few more coats. In the pictures I have shared there are three coats of the nail color applied on my nails.
Have you guys used this shade? Share your experiences if you have.

Review–Luscious Diamond Finish Nail Lacquer in No. 7–Peach Fuzz
I love nail colors of all kinds. Today I am going to review Luscious nail color in No. 7 – Peach Fuzz
The Packaging:
Its packaged in a beautiful clear bottle which shows the nail color and a stylish black top which has a big enough brush to cover your nail with nail polish in one to two good swipes. The bottle is bigger than many other nail polishes from other brands and personally I think it’s a bit stronger also (didn’t test it by throwing it on the floor but it just looks more exquisite ). The nail color looks very classy from inside the bottle and the quality is very flowy yet thick enough to stay put on the nails
The Pricing:
It can be bought from any big cosmetic store in Rawalpindi/Islamabad. I purchased it online from their website here for PKR 225 only. They ship nationwide and that too for free . I think with the size of the bottle and its quality the value for money is good.
The Results:
Results are very good when you consider the beautiful sheen in your nails after applying the nail color. It has a pearly effect and gives your nails a light glossy effect. It is a peachy or coral shade and looks amazing on your fingers. However I don’t think if you are looking for a nude shade this is a right choice for you. It stays non chipped for sometime, in my pictures I have it on for 2 days (without any base coat or top coat). Overall I consider it a good shade and nice addition to my collection.
Have you guys used this shade or any other nail color from Luscious Cosmetics? Share your experiences if you have.

Review–Golden Rose Paris Nail Lacquer In 76–CLEAR SEA
I am a huge fan of nail colors and keep on trying different colors from many brands. I have many colors from Golden Rose and I must say they have a huge color range, normally I get every color I m trying to find in Golden Rose.
So, lets get started
The Packaging:
The nail color is in a beautiful eiffel tower shaped bottle (implies to the name Golden Rose PARIS). the container is obviously clear to show the nail color inside. The nail color brush is also good enough to apply nail color in two to three good swipes (depending on the color you want)
The Pricing:
Golden Rose PARIS nail colors are priced within the range of 125-150 PKR. I consider it a good value for money.
The Results:
I love the color how it looks on the nails. It’s a bit transparent on the first coat but if you want to darken it you can increase the number of coats for it. In the picture I have shared I have applied 3 coats of the nail polish. It has a bit of light blue glitter crystals which shimmer in lights and make this nail color very exquisite. I have a few dresses in the grape green range and this nail color goes very well with all of them. Overall it’s a good purchase and I am satisfied from it. But since this color is somewhat unique; you might not like it if there is no matching dress or something to go with it.
The Good Things:
- Glossy finish
- Bit of blue crystal glitter brings extra sheen to your nails
- Non chipped nails even after days of use (in the picture I have this nail color on for 3 days – without a top coat)
The Bad Things:
- Color is very unique and you might not consider it one for your collection
- You need to apply a few coats to get the color visible, the first coat is quite transparent and does not bring out the green shade of the nail polish

Review–Dazz Matazz Nail Polish
Here I will be reviewing Daz Matazz nail polish in yellow. I have used many yellow colored nail polishes from Golden Rose, Sweet Touch but this is one I like the most amongst all the others. The reason is its texture and color which are thoroughly deep. The nail polish has a smooth and satiny texture when it has been applied to the nails.
The Packaging:
The nail polish comes in a small round bottle of 15 ml which is filled with the nail polish liquid. The nail color is liquidy but not so runny when you apply it. The brush is also good enough to apply the nail polish properly in one to two swipes. The Pricing:
I bought this almost two weeks back so I don’t exactly remember the price but I am quite sure it was below 200 PKR from D. Watson. Considering its results and smooth satiny texture I consider it a very good value for money. The Results:
I have always been looking for a yellow colored nail polish which is not shiny or glittery. I used a Golden Rose nail color in yellow some years back which was a bit lighter than this one and it used to serve my purpose. However, it had a problem that it used to take a very long time drying. I didn’t get the same color in Golden Rose again and since then I am looking for a perfect yellow nail color. Thanks to Dazz Matazz I have found it. It dries quite quickly. The color you will see in my pictures is after two coats of the nail color. The first coat was a bit transparent and to make it opaque I had to apply a second coat after the first one dried. Regarding questions whether I will buy this one again or not; I will definitely buy this color once again. The Good Things:
- Smooth texture
- You will like it if you are looking for a matte finish yellow color
- Quick drying time
- Non chipped even after 3-4 days of application – Without any top coat applied
The Bad Things:
- Would not be your choice if you want a pearly finish – it’s a matte finish product
