Caring For your Nails !!!

Hi girls … today I m going to share a few easy tips with you regarding your nail care. I don’t want to share too complex tips which would consume your time and u end up ignoring them.

So without much further a do… lets see what the tips are:

  • Add proteins and calcium to your diet – you can eat multivitamins for this purpose or you can eat the natural foods which contain these elements and therefore improve your overall health AND your nails …  isnt it cool !
  • Who doesn’t like french fries … we all do right? Next time you make your french fries, don’t peel off the skin … eat those with the skin on… potato’s skin is rich in nutrients which are good for your nails & skin
  • Massage olive oil/coconut oil on your cuticles and nails every night (OR at least twice a week) – you will see the difference in few weeks.
  • Use lemon skin peel on your discolored or stained nails
  • Nail polish removers mostly contain Acetone – which is a solvent best for dissolving nail polish, but it dries out your skin and nails. Try using acetone free nail polish remover if you have sensitive skin. Or if you need quick nail polish remover and cant avoid acetone; make sure you moisturize your skin before and after nail polish remover.
  • Use a hand cream every night before sleeping

These were few of the easy tips to take care of your nails, I have tried my best to make sure these are not very difficult to do so that every one of you can try them out. Do let me know if you have other easy tips.

Basic Lip Care & a DIY Lip Scrub

Hey my beauties, I am sure all of you girls must have faced the dry, flaky lips issue at least once in your life. Well, for me, its kind of a routine issue which occurs every two months or so. However, I have found a cool tip which is very simple and effective.

However, first I will discuss a few things which you need to do to keep your lips hydrated:
  1. Drink lots of water - Simple!
  2. Always apply a thin layer of lip blam/petroleum jelly before going to bed.
  3. If you have VERY dry lips which often bleed, try this one simple tip. Put 2-3 drops of olive oil (or any oil will do) in your belly button. Lock with a cotton ball; and go to sleep. Your lips will be softy soft the next morning. You can repeat this everyday.
  4. Stop biting your lips.
There are many exfoliants and lip scrubs available in the market but I am always up for something which is less expensive and quicker than all of these things. I have tried a number of things but here I am going to share with you the simplest and the easiest thing which i found to be working the best.

Here are two simple things you will need for this easy recipe:
  1. Sugar - Yes, plain sugar ... Quantity depends on how flaky your lips are; but 1 tablespoon is more than enough. If you are a regular in applying this scrub then 1 tea spoon is sufficient for you.
  2. Petroleum jelly. I use Vaseline Petroleum jelly but any unscented petroleum jelly will do for you.

Now, here is what you have to do, remove any lipstick or lip gloss you have on your lips, dip your finger in the petroleum jelly and then dip it in sugar. Now your finger will have sugar crystals stuck to it. Rub these crystals gently on your lips in small circular motions. Dont be very harsh because if your lips are very dry, harsh rubbing can result in bleeding. Repeat it for about 3-5 minutes. You will feel your lips flake free and freshly colored (yes thats the color of your new skin which was hiding behind the flakes). After being done with it, wash your hands, dry your lips. You can also use soap on the lips to wash away the greasy and sticky feeling if you want. After cleaning and drying out your lips, apply plain petroleum jelly or any lip balm you like.

You can repeat the above scrub recipe every week. Its simple and quick. Share your comments after trying this out girls.

Review–ANEX Hair Dryer TS-7011

Hello All, its winter so I m sure none of you likes to go out with wet hair as the chilly wind directly hits your head and u can feel sick because of that. I personally don’t use hair dryer very regularly during summers and its kind of used only on functions n events etc. however, in winters I am quite a regular user of a hair dryer because I reallllyy cant walk around with wet hair these days.

I originally had a hair dryer from Remington which my aunt gifted me from UK and it was working quite well with me; however I accidentally dropped that and it got broken so I had to buy a new hair dryer. now since I had an option to buy a new one myself I had options in brands, colors, heat degrees, fan settings etc. and my sister bought me this hair dryer which I chose for myself.

The first thing obviously that attracted me was its color, its very melo and very girly. I had compared it with other hair dryers in the shop which were Remington, Braun, Panasonic turbo dry and others. however following are the reasons I chose this one:

  • Its color was attractive
  • Braun & remington were heavily professional looking and I personally thought they were not meant for single person use. they were expensive as well obviously & normally many models of these companies came with extra attachments which I didn’t need.
  • It has better throw of air than the panasonic turbo dry
  • It has two air speed settings, 1 & 2.
  • It also has a fan button which changes the hot air to cool air. So technically I have 4 air settings, 2 with hot setting and 2 with cool
  • It is foldable. As I tend to travel a lot, so I want something easily portable and this serves my purpose.
  • Another thing which is good about this hair dryer is that it automatically turns itself off in case its used for a long time and then saves the hair dryer from fusing. I didn’t know this thing when I bought it but I like this feature because many hair dryers get fused while being used and this one has precaution built into it.

Following are some of its pictures with folded and non folded handle:

The air settings area is shown below. the fan button when pressed gives cool air instead of hot.

My sister purchased it for me for PKR 2100/- from an electronics shop in Murree Road Rawalpindi. As of now I am very happy with this product and I use it almost daily. I totally recommend it to people and I think it’s a good value for money.
